What are Swedish Easter Witches?
Categories:
Holidays
In Scandinavia witches are a symbol of Easter rather than Halloween like in the United States.
Near Easter time small girls dress up as cute little witches and go door to door in search of sweets.
Easter witches on Scandinavian postcards are usually seen flying on brooms and are often accompanied by black cats and teapots. They often appear on the smaller sized Swedish cards as well as on the standard size.
Cherryland Auctions usually has a nice selection of Easter Witches in each auction. They are included in the Halloween section to make it easier for our American customers to find.
